CEED is a nationwide entrance examination conducted by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT Bombay) for admissions to various post-graduate programmes such as Master of Design (M.Des.) and PhD as detailed below:




Master of Design (M.Des.) in

Note: There is no age limit for the above programmes and candidates can appear any number of times. Students having a 3-year degree are not eligible. The objective of CEED is to assess the candidates’ aptitude for design, visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills.

Admission Process

Admission process starts well in advance with online registration (usually in August) and continues until the declaration of results in December for the ensuing academic year (for instance, the process for 2014-15 will start in August 2013).

1) Pre Exam
All procedures to be done online, including supporting documents: photograph, signature, and supporting documents. Please visit out page at # for all the necessary details. Visit http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/ceed2013/pre-examination/application-procedure/ for detailed application procedure. Complete the online application process in two steps:
Step 1 – register with your email and mobile number to obtain your password
Step 2 – login, keep the photographs and documents for upload, fill the application form, pay the applicable fees (women candidates exempted from the fees) and submit.
2) Exam

The exam is of 3 hours duration without any break.
Exam Centres: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The exam will contain two parts – A and B. Both parts are compulsory. Part A is a computer-based screening test of multiple choice and Part B is a paper-based exam. Candidates are allowed to attempt any question of Part A or Part B during the three hour duration. Only candidates who secure a minimum cut-off mark qualify to be evaluated for Part B. There will be negative marking for Part A.
3) Post Exam

Results of CEED will be displayed on the web page and the Score cards will be sent to all the qualified candidates to their registered communication address. These scores may be used for admission to various programmes as described in the table above.
